Slam Dunk’s

Resurrection playlist

WHAT’S EASTER ABOUT IF NOT CHOCOLATE EGGS AND SOMEONE COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD, EH? TO CELEBRATE THIS WEEKEND’S FESTIVITIES, A FEW OF THE BANDS PLAYING THIS YEAR’S SLAM DUNK HAVE COMPILED A SHORT-BUT-FESTIVE RESURRECTION PLAYLIST, FEATURING TRACKS THAT ARE GUARANTEED TO BRING THEM TO LIFE…

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”5/6″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1 vc_col-md-offset-1″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1522579921213{padding-top: 25px !important;}”]“I love this question but also a very tough one since I have so many songs that are very special to me. If I had to choose, I’d say ‘Hotel California’ by The Eagles. Everything about that song I just fall in love with. The lyrics, melodies, rhythm, everything. I don’t remember a lot, but I remember the first time I sat down and really listened to that song. 11 years old sitting in my room with my dad’s radio it came on, interrupted my LEGO masterpiece, but I couldn’t help but listen to it from start to finish. It put me in another world. The way this beautiful story was depicted just fascinated me. It became this incredible discovery, and suddenly I was talking to everyone about this song I found. And the solo. Oh my god the guitar solo. It tells a story in itself, and the intensity just builds when Don Felder comes in with the harmonies. If there’s any song that’ll drag me out of my grave and start singing, it’s Hotel California. Beautiful song and I’ll be listening to that band forever.” – Josh, The Faim

“I feel as if there was a song to bring me back to life it’d have to be pretty damn heavy. With that in mind, I’d have to go with ‘Terrifyer’: it is an inexplicably, monstrously heavy song from Pig Destroyer.” – Mike, The Devil Wears Prada

“Sum 41, ‘Fat Lip’. It is such a tune, as soon as it comes on any jukebox the whole place will erupt into song and dance and I love that there are some songs that can do that. If I’ve had a long day ‘Fat Lip’ is my go to for those instant happy feelings!” – CJ, Dream State

“A song that could completely resurrect me would have to be ‘In Regards to Myself’ by Underoath. From the moment that opening riff starts, I’m moshing. I don’t care where I am. When the chorus hits? That’s when I enter my body. Such a massive tune. Incredible energy and musicianship on the entire track.” – Derek, State Champs

“Hey, this is Dallas from Grayscale. If I died and needed to come back to life with one song, it would have to be ‘Bat Country’ by my dudes in A7X. There is just something about the song that gets me going. It is probably because of the range on M. Shadows’ sick vocals and the shredding guitars of Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates. My favourite part of the song is the b-melody at 1:44 where M. Shadows hits that outrageous falsetto “NEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYY”. This is the song that actually inspired my life motto, which is, “He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.”” – Dallas, Grayscale

Slam Dunk 2018 will take place in Leeds City Centre on Saturday 26th May, Hatfield Park on Sunday 27th May, and Birmingham’s NEC on Monday 28th May. Tickets are on sale now.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
