It’s a different sort of Bring Me The Horizon that return to Reading Festival

Bring Me The Horizon have thrashed and fought for this. Their journey has constantly been an uphill one and even when they seemed ontop of the world with ‘That’s The Spirit’, they had their naysayers.

Today, they play their first live show in well over a year. Before they take to the stage though, there’s a deafening, excitable tent-wide scream that just seems to run and run. It’s a goosebump-inducing moment of celebration, a vocal burst of joy for a band who mean the world, despite constantly changing the rules of it.

This is meant to be the start of something new and BMTH have never been ones to mince their words.

Their comeback song rallies against hearing the same old ‘Mantra’ and live, things have changed as well. As the crown of the new gives way to the skip of the known, things start to feel different. ‘Throne’ washes away the purple and red, replacing it with blinding white and rekindled fire, but still there’s a knowing peace to this ascension. Bring Me aren’t taking the throne, it’s being offered to them.
