Setting the mood in romantic situations is a fine art, and bluntly, we don’t trust you lot to not try to woo someone with a Frank Turner record (*shudder* – Ed). That means we need expert help. When we think of romance, we think exclusively of Pulled Apart By Horses guitarist James Brown – almost certainly the hottest person in a Leeds based band named after an action and an equine beast. That’s why we set him the task of preparing a playlist of the most romantic songs he could think of for this Valentine’s Day. Worryingly, that took our James to Morrissey, but hey, we all have our own issues.
Pulled Apart By Horses are set to play Live at Leeds festival this May. Tickets for that are on sale now.
Robert Palmer – Addicted To Love
To be totally honest, this is just a pure and simple straight up feel good hit, Valentine or no Valentine.
Elvis Costello – I Want You
Probably one of my favourite songs of all time full-stop.
The Cure – Lovesong
Mushy Robert Smith will always love you folks. Great tune.
Queens Of The Stone Age – Smooth Sailing
It ain’t that romantic, but man alive it’s dirty and sexy this tune.
Def Leppard – Love Bites
Power grab the sky folks. ‘OOOooooooooooooo COME ON’! Pure stinking cheese and I love it.
The Smiths – Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
Stuck this in for those who likes to cry and wallow in despair each year.
Jeff Buckley – Lilac Wine
Crack open the wine and listen to Jeff. He knows the score folks.
Led Zeppelin – Whole Lotta Love
BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY!
Marilyn Manson – Valentines Day
Even MM can get a bit mushy…… This is NOT romantic at all. But it has ‘Valentine’ in the title and I love it. Soz.
Huey Lewis And The News – The Power Of Love
Couldn’t leave this one out. Feel good banger.
