The Smashing Pumpkins cover the new issue of Upset, out now!

  • November 27, 2020
  • Upset

We’ve made it. Finally, 2020 is coming to a close – and while that’s just a number on a calendar, hope is also within sight that soon, maybe, life might return to normal. With that in mind, we’ve put together a year-end issue that looks both backwards and forwards.

There’s no better band for that than this month’s cover stars, The Smashing Pumpkins. As they drop their new album ‘CYR’ – the first in over two decades to feature legendary frontman Billy Corgan, hall of fame level drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and iconic guitarist James Iha – we go in-depth on a band with genuine history, releasing a record that looks towards the future.

If we’re starting big this month, we’re certainly carrying on in that vein too. Rounding up the Best of 2020, we figured the best antidote to a difficult year was to call up the masterminds behind some of our favourite albums from the last twelve months. That means new interviews with Poppy, All Time Low, Creeper, Enter Shikari, Code Orange, Loathe, Stand Atlantic and Nova Twins. And if that star power wasn’t enough, we’re also profiling some of the names we expect to dominate the year ahead with an About To Break 2021 special. In there, you’ll find KennyHoopla, Hot Milk, Meet Me @ The Altar, phem and ‘more’.

Add to that the glorious noise of The Dirty Nil, Seahaven and Palm Reader, Yours Truly’s teenage mixtape and all the latest reviews and verdicts, and we’re ending the year in style. You can order the new issue of Upset right now below. You can also subscribe here, and get every edition sent directly to your door worldwide.
