Subtlety isn’t really in Dune Rats’ nature – and nor should it be.
A band that are known for having a good time at all costs, ‘Real Rare Whale’ is an album that reeks of sweaty mosh pit abandon. Opener ‘LTD’ hollers a war-cry, while ‘What A Memorable Night’ bounces high. ‘Shake or Don’t’ poses the question “where’s the action? Where’s the fun?” – that’s Dune Rats in a nutshell.
Always on the look out for the next adrenaline shot, ‘Real Rare Whale’ is a riot. ■ Dan Harrison
