Kid Kapichi’s new album is angsty and antagonistic for all the right reasons.
Opening with the politically-charged ‘New England’, they really set the tone for what’s to come. ‘Here’s What You Could Have Won’ explores topics of racism, in-work poverty, mental health, violence, frustration and all-consuming love all while maintaining candid honesty and humour.
It’s an excellent showcase for the band’s bigger, punchier new sound. ■ Phoebe De Angelis
